Agenda Tuesday, 02/12/08
9-12pm Workgroups
1-2pm networking/brownbag lunch
Meeting at the Peter Larson Rm at the LCO Tribal Office
13394 W. Trepanier Rd., LCO Reservation
(May call 634-8934 for directions if needed)
Purpose: County and Tribal broad based coalition focusing on youth. This prevention workgroup are implementing goals and activities developed by members based on strategic plans.
History: Many of these groups have been in existence many years. The Healthy Lifestyles Coalition was formed after the Community Needs Assessment and has done some preliminary planning to prevent and reduce youth access to alcohol and tobacco. Using the Surgeon General Call to action to prevent and reduce youth access to these substances the work plan has strengthen. Many of these coalitions and task forces were the same interested people and agencies, therefore it made sense to host a morning of workgroups.
Now: We are regrouping and re-energizing our workgroups and developing our strategic plans and making assignments to strengthen our community. We ask all that are still interested in youth prevention programming to attend the next meeting. You may come to which ever meeting you are interested in or the whole morning meeting. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 9-12pm. Current work plans will be available on the Sawyer County Website: www.sawyercountygov.org
