Chairperson Bassett called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Riedmann, seconded by Bassett to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Riedmann, seconded by Bassett to approve minutes from the January 7, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.

Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Chuck Aubart, Sawyer County Agricultural Fair Association Treasurer reported that several members of the SCAFA attend the state convention which boasted record registration and vendor booth displays for the annual event. President Kubarek is out of town. Discussion was held regarding inspectors that annual visit each fair to guarantee compliance with state regulations for safety. The Fair website is presently being redesigned and will soon be posted. Rental of fair grounds is another opportunity to show the grounds.
Agent Report – Dave Berard, CNRED Agent
Agent Dave Berard provided update on his Program area and discussion followed. His report is on file with the UW-Extension Office.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Riedmann, seconded by Mrotek to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Approval of Out-of-County Travel
Moved by Riedmann, seconded by Bassett to approve out-of-county travel. Motion carried.
Any Other Business
The Ag and Extension Committee agreed to post closed session for March under section 19.85(1)(c) for the purpose of conducting performance evaluation. It was determined that the meeting would be conducted in the regular time slot. It was agree that DH Laberee will provide her confidential evaluation report to committee members in advance of the regular meeting for their review.
Under other business, the UWEX office brochure was circulated electronically to committee members and presented at the committee meeting. Suggestions were noted with overall affirmation of the document that will be distributed to community partners, area Chamber office and at public events where appropriate.
Northern District WACEC meeting will be held via WisLine from 9 to noon in the UWEX library for committee members willing to attend. This group is comprised of N. District Ag and Extension committee members from the eleven counties. The meeting will be held from 9 am to noon on Friday, March 5. An agenda will be distributed once received.
Department Head Lori Laberee shared information regarding the proposed move for UWEX to another location in the court house to accommodate the expansion of the judicial system to the UWEX area.
