Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Ron Kubarek gave a Fair update. At the December meeting Jim Henchel resigned as a Fair Board member for Health reasons. Kelly Froemel was voted to take the vacant position on the Fair Board. She has been active volunteer and is already informed about Fair Board business. The Board is reviewing the 2010 budget. Although the budget was cut, the Board is considering options. They should be ok. However, no capital improvement projects will occur this year, but they believe they will be able to produce a decent fair. Fundraising may be discussed at a future Fair Board meeting. Riedmann suggests approaching companies for donations as well. Chuck and Dave Aubart are going to the state convention next week and will book the entertainment. The Board is looking to host one of district meetings – attempting to secure April. The Fair Board will also concentrate more on sponsorships this year - possible commission ideas for a person interested in being charge of that. Once again, the dates for the 2010 Sawyer County Fair are August 19-22.
Agent Report – Lisa Wydra, WNEP Educator
Lisa Wydra was unable to report due to an out of town family emergency. Wydra’s report (on file) was shared and discussion was held regarding the efforts being made in the county, with Laberee and McNurlin providing input. Wydra is looking for ideas on how to get involved more in the Winter area. Discussion. Bassett will get back to Extension office regarding getting on the School board agenda in Winter. Extension will consider getting on to LCO School agenda as well to create an awareness of Programs and opportunities for youth and families.
