PRELIMINARY MATTERS
1) Call to Order and Roll Call
JB calls the Public Hearing before the Sawyer County Zoning Committee to order at 8:30 AM. in the Sawyer County Courthouse, 10610 Main St., Hayward, Wisconsin. Roll is called finding present: JB, FZ, WJ, BP, CG, DO and CY as well as Thomas J. Duffy.
2) Statement of Committee and Hearing Procedure.
Those persons wishing to speak will be afforded the opportunity provided they identify themselves and have completed a testimony form.
3) Statement of Hearing Notice.
Public Hearing Published as a Class 2 Notice in accordance with Chapter 985 of the Wisconsin Statutes in the Sawyer County Record on August 4th and August 11, 2010.
REZONE APPLICATIONS
None
CONDITIONAL USE APPLICATIONS
1) Town of Couderay – Futurewood Corporation. The S 1/2 of the SW 1/4 NW 1/4, and the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 NW 1/4, and the SW 1/4, S19, T 38N, R 8W; Part of Parcels .7.1 and 8.1 and Parcels 9.1, 10.1, 11.1 and 12.1. Volume 426 Records page 72, Volume 467 page 322, Volume 525 page 9, Volume 591 page 51, Volume 608 page 134. Approximately 210.17 acres. Property is zoned Forestry One. Permit is desired for the three (3) year renewal of conditional use permit #96-015 for the location/operation of a non-metallic mineral extraction and blasting, including a rock crusher and bituminous plant, which was approved at public hearing on August 16, 1996 and renewed most recently on October 19, 2007. No Town Board decision received.
Olson read the application into the record and presented the maps. No opinion letters were sent out as all adjacent property is owned by the applicant. JB stated that the Town
Board approved the application stating that this was a clean pit and that no problems/complaints have been received. Bill Johnson is present and representing Futurewood. He states that they have no present intent of blasting of the rock, but would like to keep the pit open for future use. Discussion held on the reclamation plan. Johnson passes out the 2010 plan of operation and states that Bob Thompson & Son’s were the previous owner. Olson states the bond/financial assurance will need to be updated to reflect Futurewood as the owner. No one in the audience was in objection to the application.

Findings of Fact: It would not be damaging to the rights of others or property values; the pit must maintain compliance with NR135.
Note: After the meeting, it was determined by zoning staff that the bond/financial assurance is already in Futurewoods name.
SPECIAL USE APPLICATIONS
None
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion was held on a newspaper ad regarding 20 foot shipping containers delivered to the site, free delivery within 60 miles of Ojibwa with no building permits needed. It was determined that Olson would contact the number listed in the ad and inform them of zoning regulations and that permits are required.
