minutes of the meeting of the Courthouse Committee
Sawyer County Board of Supervisors

Motion by Kinsley, 2nd by Duffy, to approve the meeting agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Olson, 2nd by Duffy, to approve the minutes of the meeting of May 11, 2010. Motion carried.
County Surveyor Dan Pleoger provided a monthly report for the County Surveyors Office and requested approval for the employees of the County Survey Department to work four ten-hour days during the summer months. Human Resource Manager Carol Larson advised that a side letter of agreement with the Courthouse employee bargaining unit for a different work schedule is required for the two bargaining unit positions in the department. Motion by Duffy, 2nd by Kinsley, to recommend County Board approval of the side letter of agreement. Motion carried.
Information Technology Department Director Mike Coleson provided a monthly report for the Information Technology Department. Mr. Coleson reported assisting the Maintenance Department with installation of a 2nd monitor in the Large Courtroom with an additional cost of about $1,000.
Land Records Department Director Robyn Thake provided a monthly department report, including that the assessment season for municipalities is underway, that the Town of Edgewater and the Town of Weirgor will have revaluations done this year, and that notices will soon go out for 2nd half of real property tax payments.
The Committee discussed County Board member Bruce Paulsen’s suggestion that committees and departments consider bidding for services such as the contracted digital parcel mapping.
The Committee reviewed a written monthly report for the Clerk of Circuit Courts Office submitted by Clerk of Circuit Court Anne Marie Danielson and a memo from Register of Deeds Paula Chisser concerning the recent legislation changing the recording fee structure for real estate documents filed with the county register of deeds. Effective June 25, 2010 the cost to record a real estate document in the Sawyer County Register of Deeds Office will be $30 regardless of the number of pages.
The Committee reviewed the monthly department expense vouchers. Motion by Olson, 2nd by Kinsley, to approve the vouchers. Motion carried.
County Clerk Kris Mayberry reported on insurance, risk management, and liability claims involving Sawyer County.
Motion by Kinsley, 2nd by Olson, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
