Resolution to participate in UTV pilot program
Peterson stated that in the past 2 years, Sawyer County participated in a pilot program to determine compatibility and had received very few, if any, complaints (corners/sight lines, road routes, etc.). The state has expanded the pilot program to all counties that want to participate. UTV's would operate on ATV trails and routes (except on Federal Forest). Paulsen questioned if there is any downside to this proposal - NONE. UTV's are heavier and wider and travel at a slower speed - promotes family recreation. Towns can opt out of pilot program. Motion by Bassett, second by Gunderson to send to County Board with recommendation of approval. Motion carried.
Direct sale for Town of Lenroot gravel pit expansion
Town of Lenroot requested permission for gravel pit expansion (10 acres). County needs to cut 6 acres of timber with a sale value of $2900. Motion by Bassett, second by Pearson to approve direct sale. Motion carried.
