PURPOSE:
The LCO Community College offers a wide variety of courses leading to Associate degrees in several fields. Those completing the Associate of Arts degree must complete LCO Community College general education requirements as well as those courses required in the specific major. The following Associate of Arts degrees are offered: Business, with a Business Administration Track and a Tribal Management Track; General studies; Health, with Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling Track and a Community Health Track; Native American Studies; and Secretarial Science. Supporting these degree programs are course offerings in Art, Business Administration, Education, English, Health, History, Humanities, Math/Science, Native American Studies, Philosophy and Religion, Political Science, Psychology, Secretarial Science, and Sociology/ Anthropology.

PURPOSE:
The program provides a wide range of services including: Community Health Services, Alcoholism Counseling and Outreach Services, T.R.A.I.L.S. (Testing Reality And Investigating Lifestyles), Obstetric Services, Diabetic Clinic, Optometry, Audiology, Dental, Radiology, Pharmacy and Contract Health Services.
ELIGIBILITY:
Referrals must be American Indians enrollable in a Federally recognized Tribe. Income guidelines for WIC.

PURPOSE:
A collaboration of programs that have been developed to meet the needs of Tribal families. Respite and child care services, family preservation and support, a worker from Indian Child Welfare, T.R.A.I.L.S., Honor our Children, Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Programs. There is also a Domestic Abuse Advocate available.

PURPOSE:
The center operates a monthly commodities program providing surplus government food to those who are not receiving food stamps and meet income guidelines.
ELIGIBILITY:
Income guidelines based on earned and unearned income. Cannot receive food stamps or SSI.

PURPOSE:
The LCO Halfway House is a residential program for adult men who are on probation or parole to keep them from the prison system. There is a 6-month stay with the possibility of extension. Services offered include: individual and group therapy, school and job services, and AODA counseling.
ELIGIBILITY:
Referrals must be made from probation or parole and applicants must be over 18, male and American Indian.

PURPOSE:
Serves families with children ages 3-5 years old. Preference is given to handicapped children. Improves the cognitive abilities and focuses on the importance of early childhood development in the areas of education, health, medical and dental, nutrition, mental health, parent involvement, social services and services to handicapped children.

Must be income eligible and have proof of income. Children must be between 3 and 5 years of age.

The Legal Department provides professional legal services to the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, including all governmental programs and business entities. The Legal Department does not represent individual tribal members.

PURPOSE:
Designed to serve and protect children's rights and needs, not only individually but also as a family unit to help people cope with the many stresses and situations that cause a maladaptive family environment. Information and assistance on mental health, alcohol and drug abuse, parenting skills, crisis intervention, teenage pregnancy, suicide, foster care, child abuse, stress reduction, truancy and incest.
ELIGIBILITY:
American Indian families on or near the LCO Reservation. Referrals can be made through the Sheriff's office, Department of Social Services or by self-referral.

PURPOSE:
The LCO Respite/Crisis Child Care Project is designed to offer temporary child care to parents with children 0-11 years of age. It is provided to give parents time out (a break) from their child-caring responsibilities where a parent or parents are experiencing high levels of stress or are involved in an emergency situation such as hospitalization, alcohol or drug problems, incarceration or have various medical or mental health appointments.
ELIGIBILITY:
Referrals must be American Indians enrolled in LCO.
