The majority of this project will consist of pulverizing the existing roadway and placement of a 3.5” hot mix asphalt surface.  The portion of the project that required reconstruction was completed last Fall.  The Sawyer County Highway Department will be placing approximately 3 inches of gravel onto the remaining portion of the roadway prior to it being pulverized.  The road will then be paved with 3.5” of hot mix asphalt.  The road will be open for travel with only minor delays expected during the paving process.  This project is funded under the Forest Lands Access Program and, except for the gravel hauling that Sawyer County will do, the majority of the project is being handled by Mattison Contractors of Knapp, WI.
